Bring your own key

Use your own provider account. Free, private, and always available.

Supported providers

DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic and OpenRouter for chat, plus Qwen (DashScope) and JEV in the vault. Choose the provider and model in Settings; the model list is read live from the provider.

Where the key lives

In the desktop app, in Electron safeStorage (macOS Keychain). In the browser, as a non-extractable WebCrypto key. Keys go directly from your device to the provider and never pass through a Thundera server.

Speech keys

Deepgram (speech to text) and ElevenLabs (reply voice) keys are stored in the macOS Keychain. Without them, Jarvis falls back to local speech recognition and the Kokoro or macOS voices.

Vision

Camera and screen questions use your chat model if it accepts images, otherwise the first saved Anthropic or OpenAI key. DeepSeek is text-only.
